Role Description The Compliance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for supporting and monitoring organizational compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves conducting routine compliance reviews, maintaining documentation, and tracking regulatory changes relevant to public education and charter school operations. The Compliance Specialist will assist in developing and updating policies and procedures, preparing compliance reports, and coordinating responses to audits or investigations. They will collaborate with school and central office staff to provide guidance, training, and clarification on compliance requirements. The role also includes analyzing data to identify potential risks, recommending corrective actions, and helping to embed a culture of ethical and compliant practices across the organization. Qualifications Strong skills in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant education, state, and federal regulations. Knowledge of Legal Compliance principles, including policy review, documentation standards, and risk mitigation practices. Demonstrated Analytical Skills to review data, identify trends or issues, and propose practical, compliant solutions. Effective Communication skills, including clear written documentation, training delivery, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Business, Legal Studies, Education, or equivalent experience. Experience in K–12 education, public sector, or a regulated environment is preferred. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
