What You'll Do:

• Provide specialized nursing care in the OR, PACU, Endoscopy, and C-sections
• Assist with surgical procedures and maintain sterile fields
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Participate in emergency response and relief teams when assigned
• Follow protocols related to COVID-19 and other safety standards
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health record system
• Adapt to unit needs, including float duties across departments as assigned

What You Need:

Required:

• Valid Louisiana RN license
• 1+ year of OR experience
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Epic experience
• Ability to stay on local emergency teams as required

Preferred:

• Experience in rural hospital settings
• Flexibility to respond to emergency team assignments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

About the Assignment:

This role is based in a small, rural hospital where the OR team handles surgery, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy procedures. The unit has an average daily census of 10 patients, with a lively mix of surgeries and emergencies, including occasional ER trauma. Shifts are day hours (06:00 - 14:30), with on-call requirements once per week and every fifth weekend. You will start on the unit with buddy call support during your first week.
