Senior Litigation Technology Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Litigation Technology Specialist serves as a senior technical resource for the firm's litigation teams, providing advanced technology support and strategic guidance throughout the litigation lifecycle. This role ensures attorneys and legal professionals have the technology, equipment, and technical expertise necessary to effectively prepare for hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials. The Senior Litigation Technology Specialist is responsible for administering, implementing, and optimizing the firm's litigation support technologies, with a primary focus on trial presentation software, courtroom technology, evidence presentation, and related litigation support tools. As business needs permit, this position also provides support for e-Discovery platforms and document review systems in collaboration with the ELS (e-Discovery & Litigation Support) team. In addition to providing hands-on technical support, the Senior Litigation Technology Specialist leads complex litigation technology initiatives, mentors Litigation Technology Specialists, develops departmental best practices and workflows, and serves as the escalation point for advanced technical issues. Working closely with attorneys, paralegals, the ELS team, Information Technology, and external vendors, the Senior Litigation Technology Specialist delivers reliable, innovative litigation technology solutions that enhance client service and support the successful execution of litigation matters.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the firm’s subject matter expert for litigation technology applications, including Trial Director, OnCue, Opus2, Page Vault, mobile collection tools, and other emerging litigation technologies. Lead complex litigation technology projects and provide strategic guidance to attorneys and litigation teams. Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Litigation Technology Specialists. Coordinate and oversee courtroom technology and provide hands-on trial support including courtroom equipment setup and digital exhibit presentation. Lead the preparation and quality control of multimedia trial presentations, including synchronized deposition video, edited video clips, demonstrative evidence, and digital exhibits. Support the ELS team with the technical aspects of e-discovery, including data processing, loading, and production within platforms such as Relativity as the business need arises. Ensure all litigation technology systems are functional and user-ready; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly. Lead technology planning meetings with case teams and collaborate with them to understand specific trial needs and provide tailored technical support. Develop and deliver advanced training programs and train legal teams on litigation support tools and best practices. Evaluate new litigation technology solutions and liaise with vendors and consultants as needed to support litigation needs. Oversee the documentation and chain of custody records for evidentiary materials. Travel as needed to multiple offices and courthouses to support or coordinate trial technology needs. Assist the Director in budgeting, software evaluations, and departmental initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in legal technology, information systems, or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

5-7+ years of experience in litigation support or legal technology in a law firm or legal department. Proficiency with trial presentation software, (e.g., Trial Director, OnCue) Opus2, Page Vault, and familiarity with Relativity or other document review tools. Strong understanding of the litigation process and e-discovery lifecycle. Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines in high-stakes environments. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel and provide in-courtroom support during trials.

PREFERRED:

Experience supporting high-volume or high-profile trials. Experience working with legal teams on complex litigation matters. Familiarity with other legal technologies such as Relativity, CaseMap, Sanction, and Everlaw.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Some stretching, reaching, walking, and climbing stairs required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor office environment with occasional travel to firm offices. Extended periods working on a PC and phones. Some evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines. Salary Range: $70,000 - $119,000 This position is eligible for a discretionary end of year bonus.
