Must-Have:

  • Proficiency in Medicated Aerosol Therapy
  • Experience with small volume nebulizers
  • Ability to provide patient education for aerosol, MDI, and DPI therapy
  • Knowledge of DPI, MDI, and holding chamber usage
  • Familiarity with medication carts and bar coding medication administration
  • Competence in suctioning and manual ventilation
  • Assistance with intubation and supported ventilation
  • Experience in high-risk deliveries and surfactant administration
  • Understanding of NRP protocol and T-piece ventilation
  • Skills in blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation
  • Experience with humidified therapy, aerosol masks, nasal cannulas, and oxygen masks

Description: The Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist will work in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery. This role involves covering deliveries and addressing the respiratory needs of mothers in post-partum care and infants in specialty care. The therapist must demonstrate proficiency in a range of critical respiratory therapies and interventions. Effective patient education and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for mothers and infants is key. A commitment to continuous learning and application of best practices in respiratory care is expected. The position requires a strong foundation in neonatal care principles and respiratory therapy techniques.
