Job Overview & Responsibilities The MileagePlus Summer Internship Program offers a variety of opportunities to work on different strategic initiatives that support customer engagement, revenue growth, and business innovation across United's loyalty ecosystem. Interns will gain exposure to a variety of business functions while developing analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills through meaningful project work and executive presentations. Interns may contribute to projects focused on: Customer and loyalty strategy & engagement Marketing strategy and customer communications Partnerships and business development Business analytics and strategic planning No Direct Path: This internship is designed solely to provide you with skill development and valuable work experience. This role will likely not convert to a full-time position at United at the conclusion of the internship. Job Posting: September 8, - September 22, 2026 Qualifications Required Qualifications Applicant must be a current undergraduate student graduating in Winter 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028 Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; or other relevant experience Highly organized and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and ensure attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; must be comfortable talking to and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders Confident performing data analysis to arrive at insights and develop recommendations. Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Other Qualifications Position is based in Chicago, IL - must be able to relocate for internship duration Start dates in May or June 2027 Passion to work for airline industry and curiosity for loyalty programs Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position Demonstrated understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and the ability to leverage AI effectively to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies related to responsible AI use, data privacy, and security. The starting rate for this role is $20.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This position may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
