Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

Join a skilled machinist team in a mid-size, clean, and well-maintained shop where you primarily run repeat CNC jobs. Once machines are properly set up and running, the work is largely hands-off, allowing you to focus on quality, efficiency, and consistent output.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal and vertical CNC machines, including 4-axis mills and lathes, to produce precision components according to specifications.

• Run mostly repeat production jobs, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to established processes.

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine machining requirements.

• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensions.

• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to controls as needed to maintain accuracy and productivity.

• Work with Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas controls to load programs, set parameters, and operate equipment safely and efficiently.

• Collaborate with the machinist team to meet production schedules and maintain a smooth workflow.

• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

• Communicate any issues with machines, tooling, or quality to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of machinist experience in a production or job shop environment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately.

• Hands-on experience operating both vertical and horizontal CNC equipment on 4-axis mills or lathes.

• Proficiency working with Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas CNC controls.

• Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of machining tolerances.

• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools to inspect parts.

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate components.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clinton, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
