About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years L&D experience required License: Current Nursing License Certifications: BLS NRP AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience Ability to float within the scope to meet facility needs Description: Various shifts during the week are available. First-time travelers are accepted if the right fit and experience requirements are met. Weekend shifts are required based on unit needs, typically every other weekend. On-call requirements include one shift every six weeks. The total staffing ratio is 1:4. Floating to sister facilities within the North region may be necessary if needed per facility request. The unit is equipped to handle a patient population ranging from neonates to adults. The daily census can fluctuate and the number of staffed beds is 22. Interdisciplinary support includes teams from various disciplines to meet patient care needs. Modules are required and must be completed within the first week of assignment. Patient diagnoses may vary, and the nurse will be involved in a variety of procedures and care tasks. This role includes responsibilities related to both labor and delivery as well as postpartum care. The facility follows baby-friendly protocols and provides support for breastfeeding and lactation. Nurses should have experience with various procedures in labor and delivery settings.
