A well-established, full-service law firm with a strong presence across the Gulf Coast region is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Offshore Energy & Maritime practice. This opportunity offers a clear path to partnership or an alternative reduced-hours track, depending on candidate preference. POSITION OVERVIEW

The associate will handle a broad range of civil litigation matters with a focus on offshore energy and maritime disputes. The role includes significant responsibility managing cases from inception through resolution, while collaborating with partners on strategy, client development, and case execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently manage a full litigation caseload from intake through resolution
• Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
• Advise clients on maritime, offshore energy, and related regulatory matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
• Provide regular client updates and maintain strong client relationships
• Analyze legal and factual issues across complex civil litigation matters, including personal injury, property damage, and environmental claims
• Collaborate with internal teams on case strategy and execution

QUALIFICATIONS

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission in Texas (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 4+ years of litigation experience
• Prior experience in offshore, maritime, or energy-related litigation strongly preferred
• Experience handling depositions, hearings, and motion practice
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to independently manage cases and work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and build relationships
