Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse position available in Dixon, Illinois. This high-risk obstetric unit provides care for antepartum, postpartum, and level 2 nursery patients, including high-risk pregnancies. The role involves working nights in an 80-bed facility with a blend of antepartum, labor and delivery, and nursery responsibilities, with opportunity to float to other departments as needed during surge periods.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that application has been initiated; at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience, preferably 2 or more; certifications in BLS, NRP, and EFM competency.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in antepartum, postpartum, and level 2 nursery; familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
• Float: At times during COVID surge, the unit provides help to other departments such as medical-surgical and emergency. Rotation with permanent staff will occur.
• Additional Information: Orientation consists of 3 days of on-unit learning, with testing and study guides; orientation shifts are 12 hours (7a-7p and 7p-7a). Scrubs are provided. The unit utilizes a patient-to-nurse staffing ratio aligned with AWHONN guidelines. The healthcare facility uses Pyxis pharmacy and OSF e-pharmacy available 24/7, with EPIC as the charting system. The unit is a high-level trauma (Level 2) facility, with 80 beds, including 7 overflow beds. The area features riverfront walking paths and a charming downtown with shops and dining options, appealing for travelers. Clinical staff are valued for dependability, positivity, and motivation.
