Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years Experience Required License: NC or Compact License Pending OK for Submission Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro nursing. - Telemetry, Vents, IV Start, and Drips. - Teamwork approach and adherence to behavioral expectations. - Ability to comply with the call-off policy. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to a cancellation. A teamwork approach is essential, and all interactions with patients and staff must meet behavioral expectations. Adhering to the call-off policy is strongly enforced. The average daily patient ratio is 1:4, and the unit will max out at 24 patients. The population includes intermediate patients that are sub-specialized in neurology alongside medical intermediate patients. The shift hours are from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekends require working 3 weekends every 6 weeks, totaling 6 weekend shifts between Saturday and Sunday. Floating to other intermediate areas and critical care is required. This position will focus on neurological patients along with the medical intermediate population. The unit is equipped with systems for managing medication and patient data. Unit orientation includes both computer classes and practical shifts on the unit. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. Additional skills related to triage, ICP, conscious sedation, and charge nurse experience are preferred. Candidates should be prepared to manage various procedures and patient needs related to neurological conditions.
