Associate Director, R&D IT Portfolio Delivery Lead

This role leads the delivery and management of the R&D IT project portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment and efficient resource utilization. The Associate Director oversees project execution, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and portfolio governance while applying Agile principles. Responsibilities include risk management, cross-functional collaboration, compliance oversight, and fostering continuous improvement across the R&D IT function.

Responsibilities

Lead R&D IT project portfolio management aligned with strategic priorities and resource allocation
Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting for investment and operational projects
Oversee project planning, execution, monitoring ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget
Establish and monitor portfolio-level risks, issues, dependencies with timely resolution
Coach project managers and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
8+ years IT project management experience with 3+ years portfolio or program management
Complex IT portfolio management experience in research or pharmaceutical environments
Financial management expertise including budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements (GxP, FDA, GDPR)
Demonstrated success implementing and scaling Agile methodologies across teams
Project management or Agile certifications (PMP, PgMP, CSM, SAFe) preferred

Compensation: $166,690 - $201,983 base
