Housekeeper – Job Description The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position ensures resident apartments, common areas, and offices meet company standards and infection control guidelines. The Housekeeper plays a vital role in resident satisfaction and overall community presentation. Essential Responsibilities Cleaning & Sanitation Clean resident apartments according to schedule (bathrooms, kitchens/kitchenettes, bedrooms, living areas). Clean and sanitize common areas including hallways, restrooms, dining rooms, activity areas, and offices. Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and disinfect surfaces daily. Empty trash and replace liners. Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces. Infection Control Follow proper infection control and sanitation procedures. Use cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines. Wear appropriate PPE when required. Follow outbreak cleaning protocols when necessary. Laundry (if applicable) Assist with resident laundry as assigned. Wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and personal clothing. Maintain organization of laundry areas. Safety & Compliance Report maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately. Ensure housekeeping carts are organized and stored properly. Follow OSHA and company safety standards. Maintain confidentiality and resident dignity at all times. Customer Service Interact respectfully and professionally with residents and families. Respond promptly to housekeeping requests. Maintain a positive and friendly attitude. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous housekeeping experience preferred (healthcare or senior living a plus). Ability to follow cleaning schedules and instructions. Knowledge of infection control practices preferred. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently.
