Director of Information Technology

Title Director of Information Technology Supervisor Chief Technology Officer Description Responsible for the overall planning, organization, and execution of all internal Information Technology functions for DMJPS PLLC, including directing Information Technology operations to meet internal and external needs, supporting and maintaining existing systems, and assisting in developing new systems. Responsibilities Maintain consistency and reliability across existing and new systems by enforcing approved standards and procedures for technology solutions. Ensure systems meet management-approved security requirements by applying defined security standards and policies and regularly validating conformance. Control and monitor user access to firm technology systems to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of firm data and systems. Ensure the availability and reliability of business information systems and infrastructure. Work with Information Technology team members, contractors, and consultants to define roles and responsibilities, strengthen teamwork, and support achievement of Information Technology goals. Ensure the creation, maintenance, and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans covering business operations, critical technology services, and information system recoverability. Prepare and review portions of the IT budget and continually evaluate technology costs, benefits, risks, and expected business value to support sound investment decisions. Prioritize, schedule, and deliver systems that meet defined business needs, subject to management approval. Communicate effectively with users to understand needs, document processes, define requirements, identify solution options, and prepare recommendations that follow approved information system standards. Coordinate with all outsourced technology providers. Direct, control, and prioritize firm technology services, including supervision of the DMJPS IT team, contractors, and consultants. Review team and system performance on a regular basis. Evaluate and coordinate education and training programs for the IT team and business users, subject to management approval. Provide management with regular reporting on project status, technology initiatives, operational risks, service performance, and other Information Technology activities. Perform other duties as assigned in support of firm operations. Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience Five years of technology experience and at least three years of supervisory experience. Experience with network technology, Microsoft 365, Azure services, Azure Virtual Desktop, and database systems is preferred. Relevant technical certifications are preferred. Skills Management skills, including supervision of personnel, project management, and responsibility for operational applications and infrastructure. Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a demonstrated commitment to meeting project deadlines. Demonstrated technical skills in application development, database administration, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure are preferred. Confidentiality is critical to this position.
