What You’ll Do
Impact patients. Lead teams. Grow into a Regional Medical Director.
In collaboration with the Regional Chief Medical Officer, you will:
- Lead with vision: Oversee medical services across one to two markets (and potentially multiple centers), driving clinical model execution, performance outcomes, and provider success.
- Stay clinical: Maintain a patient panel, devoting up to 40% of your time to direct patient care—ensuring you stay close to the mission and model.
- Design smarter care: Define, tailor, and implement care model components unique to your region. Set productivity benchmarks, create performance protocols, and shape clinical workflows.
- Operate in a dyad leadership model: Build strong, trust-based relationships with Market Presidents and GMs to co-own the success of your centers—both clinically and operationally.
- Champion innovation: Optimize the ChenMed tech ecosystem to empower providers and enhance outcomes in value-based care environments.
- Build teams, not silos: Assemble multidisciplinary teams that include dental, vision, pharmacy, and acupuncture. Deliver comprehensive care all under one roof.
- Be the face of the mission: Represent ChenMed externally to plan partners, provider groups, and community-based organizations—building new relationships that reinforce our model.
- Mentor with purpose: Hire, evaluate, and develop physicians, APCs, RN case managers, and more. Serve as a mentor, coach, and guide for market clinical leaders and rising talent.
- Drive quality: Lead regional quality initiatives to improve outcomes, reduce variation, and enhance patient and provider experience.
- Advocate for wellness: Promote preventive care and implement strategies to prevent complications from chronic and complex conditions.
- Lead with influence: Sit at the table for executive, regional, and market leadership meetings to help shape ChenMed’s ongoing strategy and growth.
What You Bring to the Table
- MD or DO with an active medical license and board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- A track record in leadership , ideally in value-based care, population health, or multi-site medical management
- High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity , and a passion for whole-person care
- Familiarity with healthcare network strategy , clinical operations, and provider relations
- A drive to serve medically complex, underserved seniors with humility, excellence, and compassion
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical systems
- Willingness to travel up to 60% and relocate if needed for strategic alignment
