Technical Marketing Engineer

Job Summary As a Technical Marketing Engineer at NetApp, you will facilitate technical marketing end-to-end for one or more assigned technology areas within the NetApp portfolio. You will collaborate with Product Marketers, Solution Marketers, and our Competitive Intelligence team as part of the Integrated Product & Platform Marketing (IPPM) team, and in partnership with Product Managers and Engineers in one or more NetApp business units that report to our Chief Product Officer. This role focuses on improving the connection from the TME team and the broader Product organization to our community of customers, partners, and prospective customers. You will develop NetApp presence on technical communities (e.g., Reddit), external platforms (e.g., NetApp Discord server), and accelerate the reach of TME content through channels like YouTube, LinkedIn, and other media in coordination with the social media team. Key responsibilities include producing regular podcasts/webcasts, acting as a producer for recorded technical videos, growing a library of integrated solution demos using AI-enabled tools, and building an integrated technology stack that makes demos findable and usable by sales, partners, and end-customers. You will also collect engagement metrics and plan to grow that engagement. Top TMEs are visible within NetApp and the industry, representing the company and assigned technologies at conferences, webinars, videos/podcasts, and on social media as a trusted technical subject matter expert. You will translate customer and field insights into information for Product Management. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering across the product lifecycle to understand NetApp products, their portfolio placement, and how they integrate with technical partner solutions to solve customer challenges. Produce consistent technical content and enablement, including videos, technical talk tracks, demos, and more. Create integration deep dives and “how-to” videos that demonstrate how our technology integrates with partner ecosystems and solves specific customer problems—without producing formal product documentation. Act as a technical subject matter expert in webinars and virtual events; evangelize NetApp and assigned technologies at conferences, in videos, and on social media with compelling technical storytelling. Work with the IPPM team to maintain a unified editorial and launch calendar and coordinate deliverables to create a unified, platform-first, customer‑centric story. Measure and report asset utilization and impact; drive continuous improvement of deliverables based on data and field insights. Job Requirements 5+ years in technical marketing, sales engineering, solutions architecture, developer relations, or related roles. Demonstrated understanding of one or more enterprise technology areas; specific expertise in NetApp technologies or the data infrastructure market is highly desired but not required. Ability to craft technical narratives, value proof, and competitive positioning for integrated solutions. Excellent technical writing, communication, and storytelling skills with a customer‑centric mindset and bias for action. Experience building technical communities and fostering engagement with customers, partners, and prospects. Proven experience building and managing video, audio, and demo environments at scale; familiarity with AI‑enabled video creation/editing tools and integration into GTM tools is highly desired. Comfortable public speaker and on‑camera presenter who can engage technical and executive audiences across conferences, webinars, and social media. Strong collaboration and program management skills; capable of coordinating cross‑functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and the broader IPPM organization while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). A Master’s degree is a plus. Compensation The target salary range for this position is $135,000-155,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside this range. Final compensation packages are competitive, in line with industry standards, and include a comprehensive benefits package covering health insurance, life insurance, retirement or pension plans, paid time off (PTO), various leave options, performance‑based incentives, employee stock purchase plans, and/or restricted stocks (RSUs), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
