Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) plays a crucial role in laboratory operations, ensuring accurate test results across various areas including Hematology, Serology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Blood Bank. This position is essential for maintaining patient care standards and supporting healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures accurately in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality control measures are followed and maintained.
• Work independently during the graveyard shifts.
• Proficiently handle all areas of the lab, including blood bank operations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through ASCP or AMT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience working during graveyard shifts is required.
• Ability to work alone and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position requires working the graveyard shift with a structured schedule of six weeks. Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory. The dress code is flexible, allowing either scrubs or business casual attire with closed-toed shoes.

Technology and Equipment

• Experience with Epic EMR is essential.
• Familiarity with Wellsky for blood bank management.
• Utilize URT for the quality control program and Data Innovations for middleware applications.

Orientation and Training

Clinicians are required to be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if the first day includes remote modules. Department-specific orientation will be provided.

Cancellation Policy

The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts for assignments longer than 13 weeks and up to three shifts for shorter assignments.
