High Voltage Electrician (FULL TIME)

Position Details Position: FULL TIME HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN (located at 4202 E Fowler Ave, Tampa, FL). Schedule: Monday–Friday. Pay: $31.00 per hour. Job Summary Maintain and repair components of high voltage (4,160 to 13,200 volts) alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) electrical distribution systems and associated low voltage (120V to 600V) equipment. Construct, install, operate, maintain, repair, modify, inspect, and manage electrical equipment, metering equipment, public lighting, power distribution systems, and other systems applicable to plant machinery and underground distribution systems. Locate USF utility systems as part of the sushine811 Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act. Respond to electric system outages and provide leadership when locating and correcting power failures. Primary Voltage (4160V-13,200V) Preventative Maintenance and Inspection Perform manhole PMI and pump out manholes, infrared terminations, and splices for switches. Perform routine preventive maintenance on standard electrical distribution equipment. Perform transformer PMI settings, gauge maintenance, infrared testing, and other tasks. Maintain, alter, and repair existing wiring and electrical circuits. Troubleshoot, test, analyze, and calibrate distribution components using test equipment. Locate and correct primary power failures and short circuits. Construct and install system components, equipment, and fixtures. Perform switching operations, system grounding, and breaker operations. Provide support for USF construction projects and repairs. Inspect and approve or disapprove contractors’ work.
