MRI Radiology Technologist

The MRI Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. This role requires technical expertise, patient care skills, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure accurate and safe imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of specified areas of the body.
• Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Review patient history and physician's orders to determine appropriate imaging protocols.
• Monitor patients during scans for adverse reactions or discomfort.
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
• Ensure MRI equipment is functioning properly; report malfunctions and coordinate maintenance.
• Follow radiation safety and infection control procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients about the MRI procedure and address any concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
• Certification:
  • ARRT (MRI) certification required or eligible.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in MRI imaging preferred.
  • Experience with advanced MRI techniques (e.g., cardiac, neuro, musculoskeletal) is a plus.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow imaging protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
