Director, Strategic Sourcing Indirect

This role leads sourcing strategy and supplier management for software, IT, and AI categories supporting research, manufacturing, and commercial operations. The Associate Director oversees a team of sourcing professionals while developing category strategies, managing complex vendor contracts, and negotiating agreements for enterprise software, cloud services, and IT infrastructure. The position requires strong people leadership, IT procurement expertise, and contract negotiation skills, preferably within a regulated life sciences environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop high-performing sourcing team; set strategic direction and performance goals
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for software licensing, cloud infrastructure, and IT services
• Oversee strategic vendor relationships and lead complex negotiations for SOWs, AMS, and cloud agreements
• Establish supplier governance frameworks with performance metrics and risk assessments
• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into commercial strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Life Sciences, or related field
• 10-12+ years strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management experience
• 5-7+ years leading and developing sourcing or procurement teams
• Proven experience negotiating SaaS, software licensing, and IT services contracts
• Demonstrated supplier and outsourced partner management in IT environments
• Strong analytical and data extraction skills with ability to drive actionable insights
• Life Sciences sector experience preferred; regulated industry knowledge valued
