An opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to support long-term care patients overnight, providing essential pharmaceutical services in a dedicated healthcare environment. Schedule:

• Overnight shift, 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient medication adherence and potential overuse.
• Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal standards and prescribing accuracy.
• Maintain confidential patient records meticulously and manage pharmacy files.
• Provide thorough consultation to patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Deliver additional patient support services including smoking cessation programs and routine health checks like blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring.
• Compound medications following strict sterile preparation procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to ensure smooth daily pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers to identify and address drug-related problems.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensed by the state pharmacy board (PA license required).
• Previous experience in long-term care pharmacy settings strongly preferred.
