Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, medical safety, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent management, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements. Perform physical examination, blood testing, and review of laboratory results (e.g., serological protein electrophoresis). Evaluate donor reactions and apply SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and coordinating transport to emergency facilities. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical findings and donor safety questions. Support employee vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and seasonal flu. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance for incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats per EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; recognized nursing program with state licensing (LPN, LVN). Current state license and certification as LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. State‑approved basic IV therapy certification. Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training. Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
