Patrol Officer Job Location: Police Department, City of Zephyrhills Salary Range: Starting Salary: $57,018.27 / $26.11/hr. Pay Grade Z-161. Non-Exempt / Mandatory Testing Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Applicable Minimum Qualifications: Florida Law Enforcement Certified required. (May also consider out-of-state law enforcement certified and requiring an Equivalency Certificate from the State of Florida, Corrections Certified and requiring a Crossover Corrections to Law Enforcement Certification.) Applicant must be able to meet the requirements for certification as outlined in Florida State Statutes 943.13. Ability to maintain and submit accurate reports. Must have the ability to get along well with others and be of a temperament, which enables them to handle emergency situations without excitement or panic. Must be trustworthy, dependable, honest and able to maintain confidentiality at all times. Applicant must be able to work all shifts and be in good physical condition. Brief Description Of Duties: Performs general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Routine patrol work in an assigned area, preliminary investigation and miscellaneous duties incidental thereto performed in accordance with departmental rules and regulations. Exercise initiative and discretion when faced with emergency conditions. Examination & Physical Agility Test Date: To be announced.
