Appliance Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Appliance Maintenance Technician to join our team in a regional healthcare facility located in the Southern United States. This role involves maintaining and servicing a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records of preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, and safety inspections.
• Assist with ordering supplies and parts as directed to support maintenance activities.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
• Lubricate mechanical components and change air-conditioning filters regularly.
• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks promptly.
• Report unusual problems or safety concerns to supervisory staff.
• Inspect plumbing, heating, electrical systems, structural elements, and roofing for issues.
• Conduct electrical safety tests and monitor equipment for defects.
• Secure tools, equipment, and parts to maintain an organized work environment.
• Maintain rooms, walls, and ceilings according to relevant codes and standards.
• Paint and refinish walls, doors, fixtures, and furniture as needed.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, OSHA regulations, and state and federal building and safety codes.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocols, including rapid response during code calls.
• Support setup and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, heating, and plumbing systems.
• Inspect alarm systems such as carbon dioxide detectors and fire protection devices, scheduling repairs as necessary.
• Perform or assist with monthly generator testing to ensure operational readiness.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned to support the organization's mission and values.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Prior experience in maintenance, especially within healthcare or similar facilities, is preferred. Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is essential.
