• Pay Rate: $15–$20 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polisher to perform polishing and finishing work on manufactured products using appropriate machinery, tools, and polishing techniques. This position is responsible for achieving required surface finishes, inspecting completed work for quality, maintaining polishing equipment and supplies, and supporting other team members with polishing processes and best practices.

The ideal candidate has hands-on metal polishing or surface finishing experience, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce work that meets established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Polish manufactured items using appropriate machinery, tools, compounds, buffs, and techniques to achieve specified finishes.
• Inspect completed work to verify surface finish, appearance, and overall quality.
• Review other polishers' work as needed to ensure established quality standards are met.
• Work with supervisors to complete final quality assurance (QA) inspections on finished products.
• Train and provide guidance to polishers and workshop personnel on polishing techniques and job requirements.
• Provide input regarding expected polishing times and production requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve polishing methods, efficiency, processes, and procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors and managers to ensure necessary tools, materials, and resources are available.
• Monitor polishing consumables, including mops, polishing buffs, and compounds, and maintain adequate stock levels.
• Store and use materials correctly while minimizing waste.
• Maintain polishing tools, machinery, and equipment in safe, effective working condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company quality standards and established production procedures.

Required Experience

• Hands-on experience performing polishing, metal finishing, surface finishing, or similar manufacturing/workshop duties.
• Experience using polishing machinery, tools, compounds, buffs, or related finishing equipment.
• Experience inspecting finished work for quality and adherence to required finishes.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience training or providing hands-on guidance to other production or workshop employees.
• Experience working with supervisors on final QA or quality inspections.
• Manufacturing, fabrication, metalworking, or production environment experience.

Required Skills

• Metal Polishing & Surface Finishing – Ability to polish components to specified finishes using appropriate equipment, compounds, and techniques.
• Polishing Machinery & Hand Tools – Proficiency with polishing machines, buffs, mops, compounds, and related finishing tools.
• Quality Inspection & Attention to Detail – Ability to identify finish defects and verify completed products meet established quality standards.
