Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent (CST).
• BLS Certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience in OB or labor & delivery settings required. Preferred: 1 year OB Surg Tech experience.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in labor & delivery or obstetric nursing environment preferred for roles working alongside L&D teams. Preferred: 2 years L&D RN experience for positions requiring L&D cross-coverage.
• Experience with C-sections, vaginal delivery operative setups, sterile field maintenance, instrument and sponge counts, and OR table setup for obstetric procedures.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record workflows preferred.
• Ability to pass facility EKG competency exam when required by compliance (BCR/basic cardiac rhythm competency).
• Willingness to work in a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital environment with high-acuity obstetric and surgical patients.
• Preferred certifications for L&D settings: NRP, Fetal Monitoring certification for RN roles. Required for RN roles only: ACLS. (These are preferred for Surg Tech candidates when indicated by facility.)
• Preferred: prior experience with OR equipment such as Phillips monitors, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, and portable vital sign monitors.

Assignment Details

• Facility Type: Hospital.
• Unit: Labor & Delivery, OR, PACU, Antepartum, Postpartum and Triage coverage.
• Shift Name: Nights.
• Shift Details: 7p-7a.
• Schedule Pattern: 3x12 night shifts (per facility shift posting).
• Patient Types: Laboring patients, antepartum, triage, PACU and OR surgical cases including C-sections.
• Floating: May be required to cover Labor & Delivery, OR and PACU as needed.
• Standard Hours Per Week: 36.
• Assignment Duration: 13 Week travel assignment.
