Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Duration: 13-week contract Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 pm - 7:30 am) Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience License: RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: - BLS - Basic Life Support - NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Customer service skills - Excellent time management skills - Strong critical thinking skills Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The practice is supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the state’s professional nurse practice act. They implement the scope of practice and code of ethics standards set by the appropriate nursing association. As a member of the patient services team, it is essential to uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Perform the nursing process in clinical care using evidence-based practice. Use analytical and critical thinking to ensure individualized patient care. Coordinate care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to optimal patient outcomes. Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics. Collaborate with patients and significant others in setting care goals and keeping them informed. Practice using current clinical standards. Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary communication methods and complete timely documentation. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by promoting a respectful clinical environment. Support performance improvement initiatives to promote safe, quality patient care. Actively participate in shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative: Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses to ensure a qualified workforce. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing. Uphold all organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in data collection and consult appropriate experts to address practice questions. Resources and Support: Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes. Support effective use of human and material resources. Perform other duties as assigned. Compliance with all organizational policies and code of conduct is required. Required Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing preferred.
