We are in search of sophisticated, talented, highly-motivated individuals with initiative who are seeking a challenging and exciting opportunity to join a set of well-established, profitable, and growing companies.The organization offers an exceptional benefits package, 401K Plan, family atmosphere, and room for growth!**Job Summary**The Inspector performs dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured components, documents inspection results, and works with manufacturing, engineering and quality personnel to verify product conformity in support of operations. The position uses hand gages and conventional measurement in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.**Essential Functions**• Perform receiving, first-piece, in-process, final, layout, and first-article inspections in accordance with drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and quality procedures.• Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, indicators, thread gages, surface plates, hardness testers, manual bore gage setting and other precision inspection equipment.• Operate CMM equipment using approved inspection programs, including part setup, probe qualification as instructed, program execution, and review of inspection reports. Programming experience a plus.• Operate Gleason Gear Measurement Machine using pre-existing fixtures and programs.• Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T requirements, including datum reference frames, position, profile, orientation, runout, and form controls.• Select appropriate inspection methods, part setups, fixtures, and measurement equipment to obtain accurate and repeatable results. Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.• Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming products.• Provide shop-floor inspection support. Verify measurements, perform random floor overchecks, and inspection guidance.• Perform calibration on manual gages and confirm inspection equipment is within calibration before use. Report damaged, malfunctioning, or suspect equipment. Familiarity with Gagetrak or other calibration systems preferred.• Maintain gages, probes, fixtures, inspection files, and work areas in an organized and controlled condition.• Follow safety requirements, quality procedures, work instructions, 5S expectations, and applicable customer or regulatory requirements. Hoist/crane operation for heavy parts.• Perform other quality and inspection duties assigned by the supervisor or management.## Qualifications**Required Qualifications**• Two (2) years of vocational or technical school.• Five (5) years of general inspection experience including CMM operating PC-DMIS software.• Computer operation, basic shop math, trigonometry, tolerance calculations.• Gage calibration experience for simple, mainly manual gages.• Strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).• Ability to operate CMM equipment using established programs, complete part setups, execute routines, review reports, and recognize concerns requiring escalation.• Demonstrated ability to select and correctly use conventional precision measuring equipment.• Ability to inspect large or complex components while controlling orientation, cleanliness, temperature, restraint, and measurement access.• Ability to analyze results, recognize suspect data, and troubleshoot measurement issues before making product-acceptance decisions.• Working knowledge of calibration status, gage traceability, inspection documentation, and nonconformance reporting.• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, file management, and electronic quality or manufacturing systems.• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to work collaboratively across functions.• Ability to work first shift, Monday through Friday, with frequent overtime on Saturdays based on business needs.**Preferred Qualifications**• Heavy industrial manufacturing experience, particularly with large machined components, gears, splines, castings, weldments, or industrial assemblies.• Experience inspecting gear features including visual inspection, gear inspection equipment and contact pattern prep a plus.• Experience with portable CMM arms and scanner usage.• Experience supporting ISO 9001 and customer quality audits.• Knowledge of turning, milling, boring, grinding, hobbing, thread machining, heat treatment, welding, and assembly processes.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, sound judgment, and personal accountability.• Ability to prioritize inspection work while maintaining independence and integrity in acceptance decisions.• Ability to follow procedures, routers, work instructions, inspection plans, and customer-specific requirements.• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**• Work is performed in both an inspection area and an active manufacturing environment.• The position requires standing, walking, computer use, visual concentration, and handling precision measurement equipment.• The employee must be able to bend, reach, and position inspection equipment and components.• Lifting up to 40 pounds independently may be required.• Heavier components must be moved using approved material-handling equipment and procedures.• Exposure to manufacturing noise, oils, coolants, metal chips, moving equipment, and temperature variation may occur.• Required personal protective equipment must be worn. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.**Work Schedule**This is a first-shift position regularly scheduled Monday through Friday. Overtime throughout the week and/or on Saturdays is required based on workload, production schedules, customer commitments, and business needs.
