Lead Electrical Engineer (P.E.)

Edison Smart is actively looking to hire an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's Washington, DC team. This is a key role leading electrical engineering projects from concept through construction. The Lead Electrical Design Engineer will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of power, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and building electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role combines hands‑on engineering, project leadership, client engagement, and team mentoring responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and coordination of electrical building systems for a variety of project type Manage electrical engineering project deliverables from schematic design through construction administratio Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, equipment selection, and technical evaluations Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and construction document Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and ensure integration of electrical systems within overall building design Support client meetings, project planning, and technical presentations as required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / similiar Professional Engineer (PE) license required Previous experience working for an AEC or MEP Consultancy preferred Strong experience designing electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings Proficiency or working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software Thorough knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards, and applicable electrical codes Experience with power distribution, lighting design, emergency power systems, and low-voltage systems Excellent communication and project coordination skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Edison Smart®
