Job Overview: Lab Integration Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a hands-on Lab Integration Engineer to support lab and ground testing of aerospace systems in a highly regulated environment. This role focuses on executing test procedures, troubleshooting system-level issues, and ensuring requirements verification and compliance.

This is an execution-driven role ideal for engineers who enjoy working across hardware, software, and control systems in a lab setting. This is a 12-month contract opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and execute test procedures for aerospace systems in lab and ground test environments
  • Perform hands-on testing, ensuring adherence to approved processes and documentation standards
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to evaluate system performance and compliance
  • Document results through detailed and accurate test reports
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues and drive resolution through Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, hydraulics, GNC) to resolve integration and test issues
  • Support system integration activities across internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Trace test procedures and results to system and subsystem requirements
  • Support verification & validation (V&V) activities and certification efforts (FAA or military)
  • Participate in gated design reviews and provide technical testing input

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
  • 3+ years of experience in Lab Integration / Test Engineering within aerospace
  • Hands-on experience in lab or aircraft testing environments
  • Experience writing test procedures and test reports
  • Proven experience executing tests in lab or ground test environments
  • Experience with GNC, control systems, or control laws
  • Experience working with mechanical and/or hydraulic systems
  • Strong understanding of requirements verification and validation
  • Proven troubleshooting and RCCA experience
  • Familiarity with FAA or military-certified environments
  • Experience working in structured, documentation-heavy engineering processes

Nice to Have

  • Software development or integration experience
  • Experience supporting USAF or defense programs
  • Exposure to large-scale system or aircraft integration testing
  • Active or prior Secret Clearance (not required)
