About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele-Ortho Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele-Ortho Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required, must have general surgery/ortho experience with strong skills; first-time travelers accepted. License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, CPI Must-Have: Strong orthopedic and post-operative surgical experience required. Description: RN will work in a telemedicine unit focusing on orthopedic patients. The position involves caring for adults and geriatrics, including adolescents with specific Tanner scores. Surgeries include complex total joints, cervical and lumbar spine fusions, and various other surgical specialties. Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias are essential skills for this role. Working knowledge of special equipment such as IVs, PCA, PCEA, capnography, and wound vacs is required. RN should demonstrate competency in managing cardiac drips and performing various nursing procedures. The patient-to-nurse ratio will generally be 1:5. Floating within the specialty may be required. Weekends and holidays are part of the expected schedule. Compliance with vaccination policies is necessary. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential in this multidisciplinary environment. Candidates must feel comfortable floating within the nursing specialty as needed. All necessary certifications and licenses must be active at the time of application. Nurses are expected to adhere to safety and care protocols while providing comprehensive patient care.
