Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs.We design and deliver dependable hypersonic/strategic missile defense systems, integrating multiple technologies into unified, mission-ready hardware supporting demanding environments.As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will support and strengthen our engineering data management ecosystem across product development and manufacturing. You will administer engineering document systems, improve configuration and release management practices, and partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT to ensure data integrity, streamline workflows, and reduce administrative load on technical teams.Responsibilities• Administer and maintain engineering data repositories, including SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM), SolidWorks, CATIA document structures, Epicor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integrations, and SharePoint repositories• Provide day-to-day support for PDM and engineering document management questions• Manage user access, permissions, metadata standards, and workflow routing within PDM systems• Troubleshoot document control and release issues, including revision control and baseline management• Coordinate release workflows across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, traceable documentation• Maintain alignment between engineering documentation, bill of materials (BOM) records, and manufacturing needs• Lead cleanup, restructuring, and migration efforts within SolidWorks PDM, including vault reorganization and baseline improvements• Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements to configuration and document management processes• Evaluate downstream impacts of proposed system or workflow changes before implementation• Partner with IT and engineering teams to enhance system usability, reliability, and long-term maintainabilityRequired Qualifications• 3–7 years of experience in Product Data Management (PDM) administration, document control, configuration management, or engineering operations support• Hands-on experience with SolidWorks PDM in a production engineering environment• Familiarity with SolidWorks, CATIA, Epicor ERP, and SharePoint repositories• Understanding of CAD/document management workflows and engineering release processes• Experience coordinating across technical and operational teams; strong written and verbal communication skills• Experience supporting PDM migrations, vault reorganizations, or baseline improvement efforts• Background in aerospace, defense, or other highly technical manufacturing environments• Understanding of BOM structures, revision management, and engineering/manufacturing data relationships• Naturally inquisitive and systems-oriented, with the ability to balance process discipline with practical engineering realities• A current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain oneBenefits• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) with company match• Paid time off• Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contribution• Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)• Company-paid life and AD&D insurance• Short- and long-term disability coverage• Tuition reimbursementKarman Space and Defense is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
