The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus SECURITY OFFICER POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Security Officer Dept No: 133000 Department: Building Operations Status: Non-Exempt Supervisor: Director of Bldg. OPS Position Summary: Patrolling interior and exterior, documentation, customer assistance, traffic control, ER response Qualifications Knowledge and Education: High School Diploma; Criminal Justice Degree preferred. Experience-Minimum Required or Preferred: 3 years previous experience in Law Enforcement, Emergency Medicine and/or Firefighting Special skills: Excellent customer service skills, common sense, sound judgment, detail oriented, dependable, professional, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, physically fit, able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours at a time indoors as well as outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Valid Ohio Security Officer License. Proven experience as a security officer or in a related field. Strong knowledge of security procedures, protocols, and surveillance systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods. Basic computer skills for operating security systems and writing reports. Duties and Responsibilities Patrol exterior property on foot / in car as a deterrent to criminal activity Patrol interior buildings securing every office, room and door Writing detailed incident, accident and injury reports as required per occurrence Provide customer assistance and escort as requested Traffic control Respond to emergency callsConsistently demonstrate decision making using good judgment and common sense Follow directions, JCC policies and guidelines. Enforce consistently and without discrimination. Other security duties as assigned by supervisor. All other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
