Maintenance Technician Fixed Equipment

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician Fixed Equipment for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Lemont, IL. This position will support refinery maintenance operations by troubleshooting fixed equipment issues, coordinating repairs, developing maintenance work packages, and ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with applicable industry standards.

Key responsibilities include investigating fixed equipment issues identified by Operations, Maintenance, and Inspection teams and recommending corrective actions. You will develop detailed maintenance work packages, including drawings, bills of materials, repair procedures, and supporting documentation. You will review fixed equipment repair plans to ensure compliance with ASME, API, and other applicable industry codes and standards. You will support inspections, repairs, and replacements of pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, and related refinery equipment. You will coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime. You will perform field inspections of replacement equipment and components to verify compliance with technical specifications. You will assist with the planning, approval, installation, and documentation of temporary and permanent equipment repairs. You will evaluate equipment leaks, assist with root cause investigations, and maintain accurate repair and maintenance records. You will support hot tapping, line stopping, in-service welding, bolting, and other specialized maintenance activities. You will review equipment specifications, relief valve documentation, and vendor quotations for technical accuracy. You will maintain equipment records, repair histories, and material information within SAP and other tracking systems. You will support equipment modifications, replacement planning, and reliability improvement initiatives. You will participate in operations meetings and provide technical support during maintenance activities and equipment outages. You will assist with annual maintenance budgeting and planning for fixed equipment repairs and replacements. You will provide occasional evening or weekend support as operational needs require.

Qualifications include previous maintenance or technical experience in a refinery, petrochemical plant, chemical processing facility, or similar heavy industrial environment. You should have strong knowledge of fixed equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, flanges, and mechanical components. You should have experience supporting equipment inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and repair execution. You should be familiar with ASME, API, and applicable industrial maintenance standards. You should be able to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and technical documentation. You should have experience developing or reviewing maintenance work packages and repair procedures. Familiarity with SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems is preferred. You should have strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. You should be able to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary maintenance and engineering teams. You should be willing to provide occasional off-hours support as needed.
