Job DescriptionDewberry is currently seeking a Senior Professional Land Surveyor/Survey Project Manager for our Richmond, VA office to provide professional oversight and management for title surveying services, focusing on and specializing in Boundary/ALTA Surveys, record plats, zoning exhibits, and writing legal descriptions. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, detail oriented with proven experience and demonstrated track record in boundary determinations, following local zoning ordinances, coordinating with title companies and attorneys in the Central Virginia region. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The selected individual must be committed to advancing the goals of our Land Surveying / Engineering team and overall surveying, design and consulting practices. Our commitment to excellence stems from our personal integrity and from other defining attributes, which we call “Dewberry at Work,” that have inspired our employees to be successful for more than a half-century.ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate projects with multiple team members.Consult with clients.Strengthen the vision of Virginia survey operations by partnering with our leadership team to provide direction and guidance to the Gainesville/Richmond survey office.Collaborate proactively and productively with other groups and offices across the Mid-Atlantic operating unit. Oversee survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or direct preparation of all types of survey plans.Train field staff in land surveying procedures.Monitor project schedules, budgets & deliverables.Prepare proposals and contractsPrepare Easement plast, Study Maps, Boundary Surveys, and ALTAs. Prepare route studies, perform courthouse research and deed anaysis. CAD oversight and quality assurance.Perform survey computations, data collection, and cut sheet generation.Required Skills & Required ExperienceRegistered Professional Land Surveyor in Virginia or ability to obtain Virginia PLS within six months.A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in all aspects of land surveying, including project management experience.AAS or BS Degree in Surveying is preferredLSIT required.A successful track record of building client relationships in the surveying and related mapping industry.Effective team building skills.Experience with transportation and utility infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.Experienced in all aspects of Land Surveying (Land Development a plus).Perform Boundary Surveys & ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys & As-built plans.Data reduction and processing of field files, topographic surveys, etc.Knowledge of Trimble Business Center (GPS processing) and AutoCAD Civil 3D software a plus.Have the ability to work out of town if required, flexible with work area.Must have a clean driving record and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicle.Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening.Additional Requirements:Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and pass Dewberry requirements related to clean driving record (no restrictions) in order to operate company vehicle.Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening.Don’t meet every single requirement?
