Human Resources Generalist (Payroll & Benefits Focus)

Location: Littleton, CO (Onsite) Schedule: Monday – Friday, Standard Business Hours Compensation: Starting at $70,000 annually + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Professional with a strong focus on Benefits Administration to join our team in Littleton, CO. This role is responsible for managing benefits programs and supporting compliance-related functions including workers' compensation and unemployment claims and serve as the back up for payroll processing. This is a fully onsite position in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration (Primary Focus)
    • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, FSA, life, and retirement plans
    • Manage enrollments, status changes, and terminations
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions
    • Support open enrollment and employee education initiatives
    • Coordinate with benefit vendors and ensure accurate plan administration
  • Workers' Compensation
    • Administer and track workers' compensation claims from start to resolution
    • Coordinate with employees, managers, and insurance carriers
    • Support return-to-work programs and documentation
  • Unemployment Claims
    • Prepare and respond to unemployment claims
    • Partner with managers to gather documentation and represent the company in hearings as needed
    • Monitor claims activity and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • HR Compliance & Support
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure regulatory compliance
    • Support HR initiatives and employee relations as needed
    • Assist in maintaining consistent HR practices across multiple locations
  • Payroll Processing backup
    • Process and manage weekly payroll for 800+ employees with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
    • Maintain payroll data, audits, and reporting
    • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries
    • Manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments
    • Partner with operations to ensure accurate timekeeping and approvals
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR experience with strong emphasis on:
    • High-volume payroll processing - preferred
    • Benefits administration
    • Workers' compensation and unemployment claims - desired
  • Colorado and/or Nevada HR experience highly desired
  • Experience in multi-state HR environments strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and employment laws
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
