2026-27 Math Intervention Teacher, Elementary-Northeast

Austin Achieve Public Schools is an open-enrollment public charter school with the mission to prepare the youth of East Austin to attend and excel at the nation’s top colleges and universities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work daily inside 3rd and 4th grade math classrooms alongside the classroom teacher, teaching small groups, checking student understanding, and providing immediate feedback. Review upcoming math lessons with teachers and identify key skills, likely misconceptions, and students who will need additional support. During lessons, monitor student work and respond to misconceptions in the moment through questioning, modeling, and targeted reteaching. Provide daily targeted math intervention to students who are below grade level, using student data to determine the specific skills to teach. Plan and lead after-school math tutoring for identified 3rd and 4th grade students. Review student work, exit tickets, assessments, and STAAR-aligned data to determine who needs intervention, what they need, and whether the intervention is working. Track each student's intervention skill, progress, and assessment results, and recommend when students should enter, change, or exit intervention. Meet regularly with 3rd and 4th grade math teachers and instructional leaders to review student progress and determine specific instructional next steps. Attend Math Team Meetings and come prepared with current student data, trends, and students requiring additional support. Model personal organization and efficiency.
