Role Description The Assistant Principal role at Positive Beginnings Inc is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Assistant Principal will support the Principal in overseeing daily school operations, including supervising staff, monitoring classroom instruction, and ensuring adherence to school policies and regulatory requirements. This role includes collaborating with teachers on curriculum implementation, observing classrooms, and providing coaching and feedback to support high-quality early childhood education. The Assistant Principal will help manage student enrollment and records, communicate with families, and address questions or concerns with professionalism and care. Additional responsibilities include assisting with scheduling, organizing school events, supporting compliance with health and safety standards, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture. Qualifications Experience in early childhood or elementary education, preferably in a preschool or similar setting. Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and support teaching and support staff. Strong skills in school operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and compliance with local and state regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, staff, and community partners. Proven ability to foster an inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive school environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Familiarity with child development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification is preferred.
