Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThe Finance & Accounting Department monitors and reviews the various financial plans, budgets and policies, accounting practices, shareholders and the financial community in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board.The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the daily accounting operations of the company. This position offers extensive accounting support to the Accounting Leader. The Staff Accountant works with various general ledger functions, such as fixed assets, cash, accounts receivable, as well as balance sheet reconciliations, and month end audit.Essential Functions of the Job:Perform month-end closing tasks including prepare and record journal entries and reconciliationsAssist with month-end budget vs actual analysis, variance analysis, review of proper GL department and GL assignment, gather financial information and prepare necessary journal entriesConduct daily, weekly, and/or monthly account analysesResearch reconciling items and work on resolutionAssist with fixed asset roll forward and record depreciationReview accounting guidance (US GAAP) and apply it to business transactionsMaintain documentation and supporting schedules for assigned tasksGenerate and distribute business reports to internal usersCollaborate with Finance team members on annual business plans and forecastsSupport internal and external audit processesIdentify and execute process improvementsAdhere to internal financial controls and ethical standardsParticipate in special projectsWork closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activityManage and input accounts payables, receivables, credit card settlement posting, according to schedulesDocument business transactions and SOPsMarginal Functions of the Job:Other duties as assignedNormal Work Schedule:This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.Education, Training, and Experience:Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field required.Minimum of 3 years' experience full cycle accounting.Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multitask multiple priorities simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlinesExceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential informationAbility to work in a team environment, fostering positive relationships with team members and managersProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office)Compliance and monitoring experienceJob Level Competencies:Technical Skills: Intermediate ability to perform technical skills required for job role.
