Services that support the software development process are key components of the platform, as they provide our engineering teams with tools, processes, and infrastructure to develop software for our business. About the Role:As a Senior Software Engineer within the Developer Experience team you will serve as the customer-facing operations owner of the developer tooling ecosystem supporting fellow software engineers’ day-to-day work. Solve problems systematically and transparently.Share ideas, solicit/integrate feedback, design and solve collaboratively.Demonstrate engineering and security mindsets.What You Might Work On:Software and Platform EngineeringBuild and deliver technical solutions in support of services provided by the team.Collaborate with various roles and teams to develop user stories, estimates, and work plans.Create and maintain standardized developer tooling configurations and distribution mechanisms – making it easy for engineers to get started, stay current, and stay unblocked.Lead or contribute to developer experience initiatives, using data to identify the highest impact friction points and build solutions that address them at scale.Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to the overall platform roadmap.Collaborate with both software and platform engineering councils to deliver useful and peer-accepted guidelines, standards, and training in support of best practices across the engineering domains.Operations & ReliabilityServe as a primary escalation point for production support across each of the developer tooling ecosystems.Own the operational reliability of developer tooling ecosystems, including Python toolchains (uv, Poetry, etc.), .NET SDKs, and IDE configurations and extensions.Monitor product and service health and performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they impact developer productivity.Maintain and continuously improve runbooks, escalation procedures, and operational documentation.Collaborate with security to harden developer tooling configurations and manage software vulnerabilities.Contribute to on-call rotations and maintain runbooks and escalation procedures.What We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of programming experience in Python while working in a full-stack software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or developer tooling-focused role.Solid understanding of Python ecosystem tooling – dependency management (Poetry, uv), virtual environments, and packaging.Familiarity with .NET development tooling and SDK management in an enterprise environment.Experience with automated acceptance testing and ability to write unit-tested, maintainable code.Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar).A track record of not just operating products and services but evolving them.Strong communication skills and genuinely interested in partnering with developers across the organization.Demonstrated ability to drive incidents to resolution and communicate clearly under pressure.A bias toward automation and a low tolerance for repetitive manual work.Nice to Have: Experience leveraging SDLC platforms to deliver software solutions.Experience building or maintaining internal developer portals or self-service tooling.Exposure to IDE plugin or extension management at scale (VS Code, JetBrains, Visual Studio).Experience with developer experience metric frameworks.Familiarity with container-based build environments or ephemeral CI runners.#LI-HybridDimensional offers a variety of programs to help take care of you, your family, and your career, including comprehensive benefits, educational initiatives, and special celebrations of our history, culture, and growth.It is the policy of the Company to provide equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
