Position: Museum Education Internship (Summer 2026) Location: Washington, DC Job Id: 380 # of Openings: 1 Date Posted: December 19, 2025 Application Deadline: March 31, 2026 Internship Title: Museum Education Intern Employer Status: Intern - Unpaid Reports to: Education Department, Manager of Audience Engagement Position Summary The Museum Education Department is seeking an intern to assist with the development and delivery of K-12 and Family Programs and resources. This includes expanding materials for current K-12 and Family Programs as well as contributing to the development of new programs. Goals include gaining experience of working in a museum, making connections with other museum staff and learning new skills for program development and implementation. The intern will synthesize content and create learning tools and activities to supplement current programs. Additionally, the intern will teach programs according to the program schedule. Duties and Responsibilities The intern will help assess and expand K-12 and Family Programs and resources and teach programs as well as assist with planning and preparing materials for summer camp and assisting in delivering those materials to elementary students. This will involve some research, writing, and collaborating with various Curatorial and Education staff to build content and activities. The intern should expect a schedule of 3 days per week for 12 weeks. The Museum Education Intern will also be guest-facing, serving as a facilitator at the Education Station. This includes maintaining the space, interacting with guests, and creating new ways to engage with guests. Education Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Museum Studies, Museum Education, History, or related field. Must currently be enrolled in or a recent graduate from a college or university. Qualifications Currently enrolled or a recent graduate from a college or university Undergraduate or Graduate Program. Preference will be given to applicants with Saturday availability. A cover letter is required to be submitted with this application. Skills This position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, research and analytical skills. The intern will represent Museum of the Bible in the Washington museum community and will provide information for the museum’s education department to use as a guideline for future program development. Ability to work independently or as part of a group. Ability to conduct research. Passionate about the Bible and will champion our mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible. Additionally, as needed, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.
