A CDL Class A Moffett Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering building materials or other freight using a Class A commercial vehicle and safely operating a Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) to unload materials at customer locations.

CDL Class A Moffett Driver - Job Description

Position Summary:
The CDL Class A Moffett Driver safely operates a Class A commercial truck to deliver products to customer sites while using a truck-mounted Moffett forklift to load and unload materials. This role requires excellent driving skills, knowledge of DOT regulations, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a CDL Class A flatbed or tractor-trailer safely.
Transport materials to residential and commercial job sites.
Operate a Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) to unload and place materials.
Secure loads using straps, chains, and binders.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT logs.
Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch.
Maintain a clean truck and report maintenance issues promptly.

Qualifications:

Valid CDL Class A license.
Current DOT Medical Card.
Clean driving record (MVR).
Experience operating a Moffett forklift.
Flatbed driving and load securement experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 75-100 lbs. when required.
Strong customer service and communication skills.

Skills:

Safe driving and defensive driving techniques.
Moffett forklift operation.
Load securement and cargo handling.
Time management and route planning.
Attention to detail and safety awareness.

Work Environment:

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Frequent lifting, climbing, bending, and standing.
Local or regional deliveries with home daily in many positions.
