Case Management Regulatory Clerk (Full-Time, Days)

Compensation range: $21.10 - $27.01 per hour. Shift: Days. Days off: Variable. Hours per pay period: 80. Shift length: 8 hours. Position Summary The Case Management Regulatory Clerk (CMRC) is a key member of the Case Management department, responsible for supporting compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) and Joint Commission requirements, while performing clerical duties that ensure accurate and timely documentation of regulatory correspondence and patient decision‑making processes. Responsibilities Ensure timely, accurate delivery and documentation of the Admission and Discharge Important Message from Medicare (IMM) letter to all inpatient Medicare and Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. Ensure timely, accurate delivery and documentation of the Medicare Outpatient Observation Notice (MOON) to all outpatient Medicare and Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. Support CMS hospital Conditions of Participation (CoP) and Joint Commission requirements related to patient decisions about care at end‑of‑life or when incapacitated by patient screening. Assist with audits for patient choice and timely Case Management patient assessments. Maintain department phone line, fax, email, data collection, file management, photocopying, and support the Case Management Assistant (CMA) with outstanding clerical/regulatory duties. Education / Training / Experience Minimum: Two‑year computer experience including Microsoft Office. One‑year experience in a healthcare/medical setting OR a 2‑year degree in human services or a healthcare‑related field. One‑year experience performing general clerical duties (data collection, entry, typing, customer relations, filing). One‑year experience in a customer service role. Desired: Previous experience in healthcare regulatory compliance and EPIC software system usage. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Working knowledge of medical terminology and CMS regulatory requirements. Strong confidentiality skills and ability to maintain all protected patient information in strict confidence. Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians and staff, especially during times of emotional and physical stress. Excellent analytical, grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and formatting skills for effective communication. Self‑motivated, flexible, and detail oriented.
