Senior Firmware Engineer

Salary: $60,000 - 71,000 per year Requirements:

• Proven experience developing FPGAs and working with DO-254 compliance processes
• Familiarity with DO-254 DAL A and related MIL-STD-516C certification guidance
• Expertise in verification planning, testing, and tool qualification
• Ability to create thorough documentation and maintain traceability from requirements through implementation and verification
• Experience with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL or Verilog
• Knowledge of digital circuit architecture, design, resource trade-offs, timing analysis, and timing closure
• Experience developing testbenches to verify RTL blocks using VHDL or SystemVerilog
• Proficiency with FPGA simulation and synthesis tools such as ModelSim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, or similar tools
• Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools such as Git or Subversion
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, collaborate with engineers from varied backgrounds, and contribute to projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to document and present work and status
• Bachelors degree in an applicable engineering or science field and at least four years of related experience
• U.S. citizenship required

• Develop, review, and maintain hardware requirements, ensuring they are complete, correct, and traceable to system-level requirements in DOORS
• Design and implement complex hardware, often using FPGAs, to meet DAL A objectives
• Conduct rigorous verification, including functional testing, quantitative analysis, and reviews, to demonstrate that hardware meets requirements
• Evaluate and qualify design and verification tools to ensure they do not introduce errors, particularly for Level A hardware
• Document design decisions, verification results, and traceability matrices to support certification
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software teams, and certification authorities to support integrated system safety
