DescriptionGPI is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Mechanical HVAC Design to join our growing Building Systems team in Albany, New York. Our employee-owned culture provides the opportunity to have a direct impact on projects, clients, and the organization's future growth.As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary building design projects serving municipal, educational, healthcare, commercial, transportation, and institutional clients throughout New York and the Northeast. You will oversee project delivery, provide technical guidance, manage client relationships, and support the continued growth of GPI's mechanical engineering practice.Responsibilities:Serve as Project Manager for HVAC and mechanical building systems projects from planning through construction.Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and profitability.Lead the design and quality review of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, hydronics, and energy-efficient building systems.Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, architectural, and civil disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business and project expansion.Prepare proposals, technical approaches, fee estimates, and project work plans.Mentor and develop engineers, designers, and project staff.Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.Participate in construction administration activities, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, site visits, and coordination with contractors.Support business development efforts throughout the Capital Region and surrounding markets.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license required or the ability to obtain licensure in New York.10+ years of experience in HVAC and mechanical systems design for buildings.Proven success in managing engineering projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.Strong knowledge of HVAC design, energy-efficient building systems, ASHRAE standards, New York State Building Code, and applicable industry regulations.Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and industry-standard HVAC design software.Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills.Proposal development and business development experience preferred.RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)Able to climb and leave a ladder to a platform varying from 6' to 20' Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
