Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department License: State RN Licensure (California) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - California RN Licensure - BLS (AHA) - ACLS - PALS Description: This position requires an RN who demonstrates an understanding of evidence-based practice. Knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacological implications is essential. Candidates should be familiar with regulatory issues and service line disease processes. Accurate and thorough documentation of assessments is required. The RN will perform clinical procedures such as IV insertion, Foley catheter placement, and dressing changes. Effective patient and family education is expected. Candidates must meet standards in proper use of telemonitoring, IV therapy, ventilatory support, and safe medication administration. The RN must recognize changes in patient conditions. Role modeling safety behaviors is essential. Errors and near misses should be reported promptly. Acting as a patient advocate is a crucial part of this role. Candidates must be capable of working independently and as part of a team. Acceptance of constructive feedback is expected. Maintaining a professional appearance is necessary. Tasks must be completed in a timely manner, and candidates must accept assigned duties. Initiative and necessary follow-up actions are required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with patient ratios of 4 is required. Travel experience is necessary for this role. Candidates will encounter a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 120 visits. Candidates will work in an environment where interdisciplinary support is available. Key skills relevant to this position include the management of acute pain, respiratory conditions, trauma, and psychiatric situations. Candidates should also be proficient in interpretation of diagnostic tests and management of critical patient situations.
