The Telemetry Department is crucial in delivering patient care across three hospitals, including our tertiary care center in Marshfield. As a Telemetry Monitor Technician, you will act as the vigilant observer for the healthcare team, consistently monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms and other vital physiological data through advanced telemetry systems. Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying significant changes in patient conditions.
• Responding to alarm parameters.
• Communicating critical findings to nursing and medical staff, especially during emergencies.

The Monitor Technician provides essential support services, which include:

• Basic computer keyboarding skills.
• Assembling and disassembling patient charts as necessary.
• Contacting other departments to relay information about ordered tests and procedures.
• Stocking supplies.

Additionally, the Monitor Technician will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs.
• Following established algorithm parameters that may trigger alarms.
• Interpreting alarms and ensuring appropriate communication as required.

Depending on the location, the Monitor Technician may also provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, summoning nursing staff when assistance is needed. Adherence to set algorithms and effective communication during alarming events are essential components of this role.

• A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is mandatory.
• Preferred knowledge includes healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and familiarity with medical equipment and supplies.
