Hospitality Controller

Position Summary WSA NYC is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support and help lead the financial operations across our portfolio of hospitality and multi‑unit properties. Reporting directly to the Controller and partnering closely with Finance Leadership, this individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, driving month‑end close processes, managing reconciliations, overseeing core operational accounting functions, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow initiatives. This is a high‑impact role for a seasoned accounting professional who can operate with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in a growing, multi‑entity environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep hospitality and/or food & beverage accounting experience, a strong understanding of multi‑unit operations, and the ability to balance hands‑on execution with higher‑level financial oversight and process improvement. This role requires a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, leadership, vendors, and external partners. The right candidate will be comfortable stepping into a role with significant visibility, autonomy, and leadership support responsibilities, while still carrying the title of Senior Accountant. Compensation Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across multiple entities and business lines. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, intercompany activity, and reconciliations. Own balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate, organized, and audit‑ready supporting schedules. Support and help drive month‑end and year‑end close processes across multiple entities and locations. Oversee core accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management. Monitor, reconcile, and validate revenue reporting from POS systems and operational platforms. Support accounting operations across multiple hospitality, food & beverage, wellness, and creative properties. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial planning, and KPI reporting. Partner with the Controller and Finance Leadership to strengthen internal controls, accounting workflows, and financial reporting accuracy. Support sales tax filings, audits, compliance reporting, and external financial review processes. Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP, company policy, and internal controls. Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement more scalable accounting procedures as the organization grows. Serve as a key finance partner to operational leaders by helping translate financial data into actionable business insight. Provide support on special projects, system improvements, ad hoc reporting, and finance‑related operational initiatives. Assist in reviewing accounting activity for completeness, consistency, and accuracy across entities and departments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7‑10+ years of accounting experience, preferably within luxury hospitality, restaurant, hotel environments, or multi‑unit food & beverage operations. Strong understanding of GAAP and operational accounting practices. Experience supporting multi‑entity and/or multi‑location operations strongly preferred. Experience with hospitality POS systems, accounting platforms, and payroll systems preferred. Experience supporting financial close, audit preparation, cash flow management, and operational reporting in a complex environment. CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and maintain accuracy in a deadline‑driven environment.
