Job Title: Residence CounselorDepartment: Residential ServicesFLSA Status: Non-ExemptUnion Status: UnionEducational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent withexperience in human services/direct care setting. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.Experience working with mental health, crisis intervention and managing trauma triggeredbehavior. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Must be stress resistant, flexible,a team player who is open to feedback and creative. Willingness to perform CPR/FirstAid/AED/CPI/Naloxone. Preferred knowledge of AWARDS.Hours: 35 hours per week, variable schedulesEssential Position Functions:1. Performs restorative services and ADL’s to assist clients with cooking, cleaning, generalapartment maintenance, shopping, traveling, taking medication, symptom management,personal hygiene, money management, self-advocacy, utilizing community resources andother areas as appropriate.2. Escorts clients to outside appointments throughout the community utilizing publictransportation to obtain benefits, medical doctor, psychiatrist or dentist when necessary,shopping, etc.3. Motivate clients to develop skills needed to maintain housing. Assist and encourageindividuals to develop natural supports and include these supports in Support Plans andclient related meetings.4. Timely completion of required documentation for every client contact as per agencypolicy. Ensure documentation meets regulatory guidelines for level of care.5. Co-facilitate groups if requested in areas including but not limited to wellness, leadership,housing, stability, employment and education, relationships, and healthy decisionmaking.6. Assist in preparing program for audits.7. Provide crisis intervention, as necessary.8. Compliance with requirements, including facilitating appropriate admissions anddischarges, maintaining census, documentation and incident reporting.10/20229. Ability to work with consumers/residents, families, and staff in a caring and respectfulmanner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences.10. Conduct apartment inspections on multiple floors, utilizing stairs.11. Immediately reports serious incidents, serious incident allegations, incidents, or sensitivesituations to supervisors. Completes incident reports in accordance with Bridge policy.Accounts for consumers, performs diligent searches, and files missing person reports onconsumers not accounted for in accordance with policy and procedure.12. Provide an environment where clients have the ability to and are comfortable accessingservices at any time of day or night. All shifts in residential community residences andany other 24-hour supervised program are “awake” shifts. That means that employees areexpected to be alert and available at all times for the purposes of13. managing any client matters that arise and to provide building coverage.14.
