Process Engineering Technician ISchweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Manufacturing team as a Process Engineering Technician I in Lewiston, Idaho. SHIFT: Swing (2nd shift) (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm to 11:30pm)A typical day as a Process Engineering Technician I might include:Assisting in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.Documenting, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing related procedures.Managing the procurement of assembly process tools.Training operators and support staff as needed.Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.This job might be for you if:You have a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the roleYou have basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.You can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.You can work cooperatively in a team environment.It is a plus if you have:Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems.Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments.Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery.Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis.Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics.Physical RequirementsLift and maneuver 40 poundsPull weight from high/low shelvesReachBendGripTwistSit and/or stand at least 8 hoursFine finger dexterityAbout Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories SEL designs, manufactures, and supports products and systems that protect, monitor, control, and automate electric power systems.
