About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Set Up Technician to join our manufacturing team and support the operation of our plastic injection molding equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for machine setups, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently throughout production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare 2-3 injection molding machines daily for production runs.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electronic equipment.
• Troubleshoot machine issues, identify root causes, and complete necessary repairs.
• Calibrate equipment and ensure machines are operating within specifications.
• Monitor production equipment to maintain safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
• Diagnose equipment shutdowns, replace or repair components, and restart equipment as needed.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and machine performance.
• Partner with Maintenance, Tooling, and Calibration teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Ensure equipment remains production-ready and safe for operators.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience setting up, troubleshooting, or maintaining plastic injection molding equipment .
• Associate degree or technical training in Automation, Robotics, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; OR 2+ years of relevant manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• RJG training or certification.
• Additional technical or maintenance-related training.
• Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating schedule
• Environment: Manufacturing facility with approximately 25-30 injection molding machines on-site.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vadnais Heights, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
